I am mommy to five little ones and I am always on the lookout for the perfect gift. I hope my suggestions help you to select a great gift for someone you care about. These gifts are great for any Marine who’s retiring. Whether he loves the outdoors or needs something to help him kill time, these gifts are going to be a big hit. My dad is retiring from army next month and I could not think of any gift to surprise him but this article gave me so many great ideas. When the uniform is hung up for the last time, so are the regulations that dictate what kind of watch a service member can wear.
After serving our country for so long, your retired Marine Corps member deserves to show off their impressive bar collection in a stylish way. This large acacia bar cart is entirely American-made with sustainable and beautiful acacia wood, making each cart unique. It’s capable of holding up to forty bottles of liquor and wine, as well as glassware, decanters, bar tools, and more. It’s equipped with a shopping cart-style handle and wheels for easy transport throughout your home.

I can’t think of any reason to buy a coin period, particularly one that has PFC chevrons or a 2ndLt butterbar on it. Our matte black USMC .50 caliber bottle openers have traditionally been our best-selling option. The Marine Shop offers a very nice Mameluke with all its needed accessories. However you may be able to shop around and find a better price elsewhere.
That’s why it’s important to make sure you get a great gift for a retiring Marine. It doesn’t have to be something expensive, but you want something that shows you care about him and everything he’s done for the country. Here are some Marine Corps Retirement Gifts that the Marine in your life will love. Encourage your favorite retiree to cuddle up and relax with a new blanket or quilt.

Some of them depict historic battles, others feature college rivalry, and some are even hand-carved. A beautiful chess set can be used as a piece of décor as well as a functional gift. Over the past twenty years (at least!) the honored service member has devoted their life to service. But when that retirement ceremony or party invitation arrives, you may feel a little panicked about gift expectations. Check out our curated list of 19 retirement gifts for a Marine.
Plenty of keepsakes accumulate after years of service. Gather them all into one attractive and durable place, like this keepsake box. Affectionately known as The Vault, this linen box keeps treasured heirlooms safe. Store important documents, medals, dog tags, and anything else that you’d like to keep safe and organized.

It lets every visitor know that in your house, you believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The sturdy and attractive bar sign is sturdy and water-resistant with a built-in keyhole for easy hanging. If the retiree has a man cave, you can choose a piece of artwork that matches his style. You can even have pictures he took while in service transferred to canvas to be hung on his wall. You can also choose statues or even collectible action figures of his favorite superheros.
Plus you’ll save time and messfrom trying to glue everything perfectly in place, particularly on the medals. Every Marine probably has a half-dozen pint glasses with their unit insignia on them from Birthday Balls and Mess Nights. While they won’t have the glass front that you’d get on a shadowbox, some shops will offer to add shelves or notches to hold additional mementos. (We like the all-important DD-214 shown in one example below). See the below photo from a recent custom order for the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. We stuff the can with a flask, funnel, two steel pints, and a .50 caliber bottle opener, all with custom engraving.

Your presence means something to the person retiring and honoring them is the reason you are there. Gifts are a nice way to say congratulations or “thank you for your service,” but they are not the only way to preserve the memories. Just like the flag that may be sitting around, your service member most likely has a drawer full of coins.
And that box is where they’ve stayed this whole time. However, a set of professionally mounted ribbons or medals looks 10x better than what you can do yourself. Newly-promoted corporals must add a bloodstripe to their dress blue trousers. New majors will need new dress and service covers with scrambled eggs on the visor. Additionally, some uniforms like dress blues aren’t part of the seabag issue out of boot camp. So Marines have to purchase them out of pocket at some point.
There are several good options for vendors out there. But the nicest-looking ones I’ve run across are from Flags of ValorandDollar Mountain Woodworks. Help keep the memories of the last 20 years alive by assembling a photo book or scrapbook. Reach out to friends or family members to contribute, or leave some pages blank for others to leave notes or send photos.
Your Marine will love you, knowing that you cared enough to take enough time to find a thoughtful gift for them. Our engraved High Seas line of glasses tilt and rock without spilling a drop! Made of 100% lead-free, durable borosilicate glass, this is a gift that’s built to last. You’ll feel a sense of history and pride with every sip. Hang a reminder of what their military service was for in the den, home bar, home office, or wherever else could use some sprucing up. Our acacia wood Preamble bar sign is a stylish addition to your home decor.
One that shows only rank insignia, ribbons, and medals. You can also add a small engraved portion that includes name and service dates. When you’ve selected the perfect gift for this military retirement, consider these few things as well. If you’re shopping for a boot camp graduation gift or an OCS graduation gift, you could have the bottle openers engraved with something like name and graduation date. Or you can go all out an include a flag, dress blues, collar or shoulder insignia for every enlisted and/or officer rank held, and unit patches or coins. Chess lovers will get a kick out of military-themed sets.
