It requires having a full understanding of instructional design theories, practices, models, and learner needs. These and other responsibilities help instructional designers to advocate for quality educational practices through the use of technologies that enhance a learning environment. Instructional designers typically need both an undergraduate and a master’s degree in education. In addition, employers sometimes prefer candidates with at least a few years of experience in a relevant academic field. Courses are taught by experts in their respective fields, who bring with them years of experience in many areas of instructional design.

You’ll work through each course as quickly as you can study and learn the material. As soon as you’re ready, you’ll pass the assessment, complete the course, and move on. Graduate tuition savings for military include a 17–30% reduction per credit for current servicemembers and, 14% per credit for veterans for graduate programs. To ensure a high quality graduate student group, all MS in Instructional Design and Learning Technology students must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution and meet graduate admission criteria. The program consists of 30 credits, of which 27 are chosen from three of four certificate programs.
